In its initial open position, the 3DR16P4-5X/200Y/00M allows unrestricted flow from channel P to channel A, while the pressure in channel A acts on a piston counterbalanced by a compression spring. The intricate design includes a nozzle that applies pressure to the spring-loaded side of the control spool and a ball in the pilot control valve that responds to compression spring settings.
This interaction ensures that fluid flows consistently until the set pressure threshold is reached, prompting the ball to open and adjust the spool position accordingly. The external pilot oil return from the spring chamber via port Y requires a depressurized tank connection for proper operation. Additionally, this model features a convenient pressure gauge connection for monitoring reduced pressures within channel A. This particular model adheres to ISO standards for subplate mounting and offers various adjustment types including rotary knobs and sleeves with hexagon and protective caps—some of which are lockable or come with scales for precise adjustments.
